It’s Romance Weekly time! A between-the-sheets look at upcoming romance books and the kick ass authors who write them. If you’re visiting from S.C. Mitchell’s site, thanks for being here!
Before we get started, don’t forget there’s a big six-month Romance Weekly anniversary giveaway brewing! We’ve got loads of paperback and e-books, a fifty dollar Amazon gift card, and a 7” Kindle Fire pre-loaded with one heck of a starter library to give away July 29th. The rafflecopter entry is below so be sure you get signed up.
Now onto the questions, given to us this week by Kim Handysides!
What’s your ideal: Alpha or beta and why?
Alpha. Alpha, alpha, alpha. 🙂
Like most women today, I’m juggling way more demands than I want. The idea of an alpha man who believes in me and appreciates my strength, but will look out for me and take over when no one else will? Even if said “takeover” isn’t to my liking? Hell, yeah. That’s hot.
Do you have a male buddy or mate you use for confirmation or inspiration when crafting your heroes?
God, I wish I did. The few times I’ve asked hubby questions he kind of looked at me like I’d lost my mind. (He’s gotten used to most of my weirdness now. Doesn’t even flinch at the half-naked men on my Facebook timeline.)
Now I’m inspired though. Maybe I’ll add male interviews to my regular Girls’ Night Out agenda. Could make for lively discussion at the bar.
What does any hero have to do to win your heart?
When I read this question, the first thing that came to mind was a line from Tack Allen out of Kristen Ashley’s, Motorcycle Man:
“The heart of you. You run so fuckin’ deep, I’ll never get there. Lookin’ forward to a lifetime of diggin’, babe.”
Not sure how to sum that up. Every word I try to put on it droops like an overcooked noodle, but the day I read it (and every subsequent reading thereafter) felt like sunshine. When a hero shines his light on me it fills my soul with an unstoppable passion I want to pour back into him.
<Sigh>
Yep. Total sucker for romance. 🙂
So, those are my answers. Hop over to Kim Handysides‘ site to see how she answers.
But before you go—use the rafflecopter below to get yourself entered in the big giveaway on July 29th!
Good luck!

June 10, 2014 at 12:42 pmYES I will take that alpha up there please. 🙂
I’m in agreement with Dani on that quote. That’s a great quote!

June 10, 2014 at 2:59 pmWhile I enjoy a strong alpha character as a reader, I get the giggles when I try to write them. That’s why my guys tend to be someone you might meet at the grocery store – not parachuting into a fire zone. 🙂

June 10, 2014 at 4:31 pmThey might not parachute in, but I bet they take care of their women. 🙂

June 10, 2014 at 3:04 pmIt’s probably a good thing your husband doesn’t react to those smexy cover models you post Rhenna (she said panting). 😉

June 10, 2014 at 3:28 pmThis was hilarious! I love the part about your hubby seeing pics of half naked men on your fb page and not flinching. My guy wouldn’t either; he probably figures I wouldn’t know what to do with them…which is entirely possible!

June 10, 2014 at 4:32 pmOh, I know EXACTLY what I’d do. Touch, touch, touch…all in the name of sensory research of course. 😛

June 10, 2014 at 4:32 pmYour hubby is awesome, Rhenna. Thankfully. I love seeing the man candy you post. 🙂 And yeah…alpha all the way.

June 10, 2014 at 7:18 pmI told him he now HAS to be okay with my half-naked men. Women are counting on me.

June 10, 2014 at 5:30 pmRhenna, this was great. I’m with you that sometimes it’s nice to have someone ‘take over,’ as long as they give consideration to what you want. My husband and yours could be friends – every time I ask Mr. Gemma anything he rolls his eyes. I’m sure one day, he’ll sprain them.
Rhenna
June 10, 2014 at 7:17 pmHahahaha Wouldn’t that be fun to give Mr. Gemma grief over?

June 10, 2014 at 5:37 pmWooHoo! Tack rocks! I also have a huge thing for Hawk (Cabe Delgado). The “babe” thing *puddle*

June 10, 2014 at 7:17 pmYeah, I like him too. It’s been awhile since I read that one. Hmmmm….maybe a trip down memory lane.

June 10, 2014 at 6:00 pmJust from that quote alone, it looks like I’ll have to put Motorcycle Man on my TBR list. Thanks!

June 10, 2014 at 7:16 pmLet me know what you think when you get around to it. KA’s got a different style of writing (I think). Once she hooked me I was done for.
