Cool Stuff Report #3

Y’all know how I love to yak about cool stuff I’ve found.  Back in May I shared some of my all-time favorites.  I’m fairly sure I blogged about some other stuff, but damned if I can find it now.  Maybe that was just a dream blog.  With me, you never know.

Regardless, I’m calling this Cool Stuff Report #3 instead of #2 because…well, it just sounds better.

So, what have my random travels uncovered for you fine people this month?  I’m not sure if the first one will surprise you or not.  It sure blew mine.

A hair dryer.

Yes.  A hair dryer.

All my life, I’d thought they were just…well…hot air.  The air heats up, the hair dries, you’re done. Right?

Apparently not.

As I’m wont to do each morning, I was setting at my desk last week, sipping my coffee and waiting for my eyesight to de-fuzz while I scrolled through the top Yahoo articles.  I clicked on some random story about best hair dryers for the money.  (Cause I love a good deal.)  I’ve decided it was fate because, holy schmoly, there’s some freakin’ technology to this stuff!

You see, I have uber fine hair.  Now that I’m growing it out from the super short do I’ve sported for the last few years, I keep finding the ends a little frizzy.  When I read this article and it told me the Revlon Laser Brilliance 1875W Infrared Heat Dryer could fix all that, I was like, “Hu-uh.  Really?”

Yeah.  Really.  I’ve used it two mornings in a row and I’ve got no frizz.  And it really did dry my hair faster.  Am I the only one who knew there were different types/scales of hair dryers?  Guess I’ll have to toss the Wal-Mart special I’ve been using for the last ten years.  (And yes, it really has lasted that long.)

My other groovy find just makes for fun conversation.  And I do mean, grrrroooovy conversation.

It’s shifting shellac nail polish color.

I know right?  How cool is that?  When it’s cold, the color goes dark, and when it’s hot, they turn light.  Unlike the picture, I went with a black/gray combo for my first time out, but I’m thinking next time I might be more bold.

I did some Googling and it seems there’s such a thing as mood polish instead of just temperature polish.  Might have to track that down too.  I have a feeling hubby would appreciate the non-verbal heads up.
